Our Story

My name is Yira Martínez, Pastry Chef and Owner of Yira Marina Pastry Chef.  My love for baking started when I was a little girl and watched my grandmother bake and decorate numerous cakes for special occasions.  When I was 9 years old, I started taking baking and pastry workshops in various stores around Puerto Rico and selling my products to family and friends.
At 17 years old I knew my passion was creating spectacular desserts, and started my Bachelors Degree in Baking & Pastry Arts & Food Service Management at Johnson & Wales University (JWU) North Miami Campus.
My career path started at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, FL as a Baking & Pastry Intern.  After graduating from JWU, this amazing sugary world opened up my doors at Fontainebleau Miami Beach where I expanded my knowledge by learning from some of the best Pastry Chefs in the industry.  Along the way, the opportunity of joining JW Marriott-Ritz Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes came along, and after some time, I realized that my true desire was to open my own pastry shop.
Yira Marina Pastry Chef was created on September 2018 and had a rebranding on April 2023 to bring an elegant image that resonate with our values.  With a strong and clear mission, to create unique masterpieces that evoke unforgettable experiences for our clients.  We are strongly committed to sweeten your desires and make every occasion a memorable one by creating unique flavor combinations that will leave you craving for more.
One of our biggest achievements was been part of Dorado Bound Magazine sixth edition during Fall 2021.  Some of our clients have been former baseball outfielder Carlos Beltrán, A La Paella Restaurant in Levittown, Pasiones Coffee Shop in Bayamón and Radio Broadcaster José Vallenilla "Funky Joe".
As part of our rebranding we started offering baking and pastry classes to help other bakers hone their skills.
Thank you for all your support and love to what today is Yira Marina Pastry Chef.
with love, Yira
